'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu is out in theatres worldwide and celebrations among the actor's fans have been the talk of the town. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the family entertainer features music by chart-buster composer Thaman. S and has come as a grand Pongal treat for the Tamil superstar's fans around the globe. With Varisu now out in cinemas, blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj watched the film during an early morning show in Chennai and shared his views later with the press after the screening.
Speaking to media persons, Lokesh Kanagaraj expressed his excitement at witnessing Vijay in a light-hearted role after many years in Varisu and said, "It was refreshing to watch him like this after so many days in a film made for families. I enjoyed it a lot. It felt like watching the 'Thalapathy' from the early stages of his career." Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is reuniting with Vijay for Thalapathy 67 after their 2021 box office money-spinner Master, was also queried about their upcoming film, which began production a few days back. He said, "We were waiting for this film (Varisu) all this while to come out. Since it has now been released, I myself will announce the date soon for an update."
Both Varisu and Thalapathy 67 have been highly-debated films among Vijay's fans on social media for a while now and with the former now released in theatres, all sights will now be set on the latter venture, and the official announcement of its cast and crew. Varisu has Vijay paired with the national sensation Rashmika Mandanna and the duo's first-time big-screen pairing has been a major draw for audiences. As for Thalapathy 67, Vijay is set to reunite with Trisha Krishnan after more than a decade and fans are mighty excited to witness the two superstars once again in action.
