Vijay Antony's Raththam has been postponed once again and will now open in cinemas worldwide on October 6, the composer-turned-actor has announced. The much-awaited film directed by Thamizh Padam fame CS Amudhan was initially announced for a September 28 release via a fun-filled promo last week, which went on to receive a positive response. Vijay Antony's Raththam had previously locked September 28 for its release after pan-Indian Telugu superstar Prabhas' highly-anticipated Salaar had opted out a couple of weeks back leading to several films across all languages, including Tamil ventures to seize the big open opportunity.

Vijay Antony's Raththam has now backed out of coming out on September 28 as there are quite a few other Tamil films releasing on the same day and will now instead be hitting screens on October 6. This latest decision has come at a time, especially when the response to the film's trailer released recently received positive feedback. Raththam has created quite a lot of curiosity considering it marks director CS Amuthan moving from parody to the thriller genre, and it's going to be interesting to see what he has cooked up along with his regulars namely music director Kannan, cinematographer Gopi Amarnath, and editor TS Suresh.
Raththam is touted to be an investigative thriller and will see Vijay Antony in a full-out serious role alongside actresses Mahima Nambiar, Nandita Swetha, and Remya Nambeesan, with the actor shown to be going one step forward in the action department as witnessed in the trailer. The film is also Vijay Antony's third big release of 2023 after Pichaikkaran 2 and Kolai, and he will surely be looking to hit the high note once again ahead of his upcoming films Agni Siragugal, Mazhai Pidikkaadha Manidhan, and Khaki, which are currently in various stages of production.
