Vijay Antony's next film, Ratham, being directed by CS Amudhan of Thamizh Padam fame has been creating a lot of buzz ever since it was announced last year, with the filmmaker on Friday revealing that popular independent singer and Tamil rapper 'Therukural' Arivu coming on board the upcoming venture. Posting a photo on Twitter from their jamming sessions, Amudhan said, "Had the pleasure of recording a song with the freakishly talented @TherukuralArivu. He brings an explosive combination of intellectual depth, lived experience & virtuosu artistry to every song. We are lucky to have him. #Ratham". Check out his tweet below:

Arivu has risen to the top in quick time over the past few years and has sung songs, written lyrics, including doing rap for several top hero films, while also making a big impact as an independent artist. His fiery brand of songwriting and singing has received stellar feedback from fans and the latest announcement from Amudhan is sure to create more excitement when the track from Ratham gets finally released. Ratham will have music composed by N Kannan, who incidentally made his debut in Amudhan's Thamizh Padam in 2010 and has worked in films like Mayanginen Thayanginen, Yaarukku Theriyum, Karuppampatti, and Thamizh Padam 2 to name a notable few.

Ratham will see Vijay Antony sharing screen space with popular Tamil actresses Mahima Nambiar, Nandita Swetha, and Remya Nambeesan although it is unknown who is paired opposite the music director turned actor. The film has been billed to be a crime thriller and will be a step away from the parodies CS Amudhan has done over the years, which has left fans quite intrigued as to what he has in store. Produced by Kamal Bohra under the Infiniti Film Ventures banner, Ratham also has a stellar technical crew featuring the likes of cinematography handled by Gopi Amarnath, while TS Suresh is taking care of the editing. Around 40% of the film's production has been completed and the remaining portions are being planned to be shot in February after viewing the Covid situation in the state.
