Composer-turned-actor Vijay Antony's teenage daughter found dead, Tamil film industry in mourning

Music composer-turned-actor Vijay Antony's teenage daughter Meera was found dead at their house in Alwarpet, Chennai, in the early hours of Tuesday, September 19. She was 16. According to reports, Meera, a student of class 12 at a private school, had gone to bed after dinner on Monday night and was found dead in her bedroom at around 3 a.m. earlier today. She was then rushed to a private hospital in the city where she was declared dead on her arrival. The police have stated that it is a case of suicide. 

The news of Vijay Antony daughter's passing has come as a huge shock to the Tamil film fraternity, with many leading celebrities pouring their condolences on social media. Reacting to the news of Meera's passing, director Venkat Prabhu wrote on X, "Woke up to this shocking news! Deepest condolences Vijay Antony Saar and family 🙏🏽 RIP Meera" (sic)

Actress-politician Khushbu Sundar prayed that no parent must experience the pain of their child's death and shared her condolences to Vijay Antony's family.
