Actor Vinay Rai gave an exclusive interview to Galatta Media as a part of the promotions for the film Veeran. When asked if taking up roles as a villain after playing a hero backfired in any way. The actor said “I’ll be honest, I'll confess to you that at one time it influenced me a lot. Around 2009, and 2010, first a director came to me for a villain role, a very good director. I didn't want to do it. Because if you see the industry norms, you might end up losing your hero market if you do a villain role. They wouldn't call for hero roles, that fear was there. So, I did not do it which I regret to date, I'll be honest with you. I told this to Vijay Sethupathi also when I met him. He was one of the first actors who came and started doing both, If he got a hero role he went and did that. It was like a lesson learn't for me I thought I was missing out on the opportunities. so, I started doing these movies and enjoyed doing all the movies be it Thupparivaalan, Doctor or Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Oh My Dog, Christopher with Mammootty sir. Even this film I did for about 10 days or something like that, I enjoyed working with this team. It was Such a good time and the storyline was made for the children and family market. It's a good entertainer with comedy, action, everything is their. Even I want the movie to do well, Adhi to do well, you know, ARK Saravanan sir has this whole entertainment in the form of superheros, Marvel that kind of the whole thing and he’s Indianized it very well."
