Actor Sriya Reddy has wrapped up filming her portions in Telugu superstar Prabhas' Salaar directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel. Known best among Tamil cinema audiences for her powerful performance in Vishal's 2006 hit film, Thimiru, the popular actress took to social media to share a heartfelt statement about her experience on the sets of the highly-anticipated action thriller film, which is slated to open in cinemas worldwide on September 28. Sriya, who is incidentally making her big comeback to Telugu cinema after 17 years when she last starred in the Sharwanand-starrer Amma Cheppindi, wrote on Instagram, "I pen this with an overwhelming feeling of immense gratitude to Prashant Neel. He visualised my character ,believed that he will make it happen. This character was conceptualised by him to such perfection and detail . (sic)"
Sriya further revealed how filmmaker Prashanth Neel brought out the potential in her to come out with a strong performance in Salaar. She said, "He chose me, even though I was off the grid. It is his sheer faith and brilliance as a director that this could be achieved. For pushing me beyond my boundaries and making me feel much better than I was yesterday! Thank you for listening without judgment,for your utmost patience,every step of the way. Thank you for understanding, for shaking me out of my complacency into believing that I could do it !!" Sriya also thanked the technical team, including the writers and producers, and signed off saying she will meet everyone in theatres on Salaar's opening day. Sriya, whose last big role was in the smash hit Amazon Prime Video crime thriller web series, Suzhal: The Vortex, is playing a key role in Salaar, which also includes Shruti Haasan as the female lead, with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Madhu Guruswamy, Easwari Rao, among others forming the ensemble cast.
