The makers of the Documentary Short Film, The Elephant Whisperers, won the 95th Academy Awards in the Best Documentary category last week. It was directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and was produced by Guneet Monga under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment. The women made history as the documentary revolves around the indigenous couple Booman and Bellie who were assigned to take care of the orphaned elephant calves Raghu and Ammu in the Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu. The Documentary captured the daily activities of the couple as they take care of the elephants and their close bonding with nature, elephants and the forest. The documentary is currently streaming to watch on Netflix.

The director shared picture of the indigenous couple Bomman and Bellie holding the infamous Oscar trophy. The couple look gleeful in the picture that has been winning many hearts. The director shared the picture with the caption “It’s been long four months since we’ve been apart and now I feel like I’m home…..”
A few days back, the director Karthiki Gonsalves shared a picture of flight attendants holding the Oscar saying she was on the way back to her home state in Tamil Nadu. The recent Instagram post featuring Bomman and Bellie has won many hearts as public figures and fans commented their admiration for The Elephant Whisperers that brought home the Oscars and the couple below the picture.
