National Award winner Suriya suffered a minor injury during the shooting of his upcoming film, Kanguva, at the EVP Film City on the outskirts of Chennai. Currently safe and recovering, the leading Tamil actor issued an official statement on Thursday evening, November 23, expressing his gratitude to his ardent fans for their messages of love and support. Suriya took to X and wrote, "Dear Friends, well wishers & my #AnbaanaFans  Heartfelt thanks for the outpouring ‘get well soon’ msgs.. feeling much better.. always grateful for all your love :)" (sic) Reports on began doing the rounds earlier in the day about a rope camera falling on Suriya, with Kanguva's shooting being brought to a halt immediately. The news of the injured left many of the actor's fans worried, who can now breathe a sigh of relief. 

Kanguva is Suriya's most ambitious film in his glorious career and is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide as a grand summer 2024 release. The film's promotions so far have been on point with a number of posters and an intense and action-packed glimpse released sometime back showcasing the Soorarai Pottru actor as a powerhouse warrior and sporting tribal attire for his role. Kanguva marks the first time Suriya and director Siva of Viswasam (2019) and Annaatthe (2021) fame are collaborating, with the film's shooting said to be in its final schedule after which full-length post-production works will commence. 

Suriya will be sharing screen space with a number of notable names in Kanguva starting with Bollywood sensation Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil cinema debut, with the ensemble cast featuring the likes of Sathuranga Vettai (2014) and Karnan (2021) fame Natarajan 'Natty' Subramaniam and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Announced to be coming out in multiple languages, the team is leaving no stone in making the film as grand as can be ahead of its theatrical outing next year, including arrangements for a release in 3D and IMAX formats. Suriya's role in Kanguva has created quite a lot of intrigue as his character is billed to be as "a man with the power of fire", while the film is being labeled as the "saga of a mighty valiant hero"
