Ajith Kumar is an actor with a massive and loyal fan base, who celebrate the release of his films like festival in theatres. The recent film the actor was titled Thunivu directed by H. Vinoth and was released in Theatres in January. His next film was revealed under the banner of Lyca Production helmed by Vignesh Shivan. It was then revealed that the director of the project tentatively titled AK62 has been changed. The makers are yet to release an official announcement about the project.
Dr Dhananjayan Govind is a well-known producer and the founder of BOFTA Film Institute. The industry insider gave an exclusive interview to Galatta media recently and shared intriguing details. When asked why Ajith Sir's project is getting delayed. The producer said “It's not delayed, at first a different director was announced. Making a film is not like buying a batter from the shop and preparing dosa. Lots of thinking process goes into a film, if you immediately cook up a film it would not work. It has to follow a process. If you don’t give them that time, they will compromise and make something for the sake of it. So, you can't get a story like that from the street and shoot the film, particularly for an actor who has Rs.200-300 crores in business. You can't compromise that much. He (Ajith Kumar) has a responsibility too. He knows how the market is expanding now, Thunivu expanded his market more. That too overseas, it (Thunivu) saw a huge response. Even during a competition, this film has done well in Tamil Nadu. So he will think that his next film should be a bigger success than this. For that, it has to have the best screen play, so he won’t compromise. He would say sir take 3-6 months, I will wait, give me a good story and then we will go to shooting. After the shooting begins, it can be wrapped in 3-4 four-month, if it's planned within 5 months, I am ready for that and then, I will go on my world tour, this commitment he has given. So the director is taking his time. So, when the story is ready and he will narrate it to Ajith sir, then they will begin shooting immediately. Let's wait for the announcement and I think in two weeks official announcement will come in."
