Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu has been a film fans have been waiting for a long time ever since it was first announced in mid-2018 before it rolled into active production in early 2020. Billed to be a mass masala political entertainer with the plot centered around the concept of time-loop, the film produced under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions has been directed by blockbuster director Venkat Prabhu of Chennai 6000028 films and Mankatha fame and includes music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. With the film announced to hit theatres this Diwali in November, the long wait for the highly-anticipated Maanaadu trailer has now come to an end.

The much-awaited Maanaadu trailer has been officially released by the team on Saturday to kick-start the promotions for the film and we are not disappointed to say the least about the latest visuals shown. The trailer is an extension of the Maanaadu teaser that was released earlier this year and gives us an in-depth look at the intriguing film that awaits us in theatres next month. Where the film's teaser showed the first glimpses of the concept of time-loop and Simbu enthralling us with his delightful on-screen presence, the Maanaadu trailer leaves no stone unturned in raising the curiosity. We see STR in electrifying mode once again and is in a tug of war with SJ Suryah, who is playing a pivotal role in the film, with Kalyani Priyadarshan charming her way into our hearts. Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja too has made his presence felt once again in the music that has been teased in the Maanaadu trailer and leaves us wanting for more of his exemplary work.

Director Venkat Prabhu had back in June had informed fans during a Twitter Spaces interaction that Silambarasan's Maanaadu will be a step away from the usual sensibilities of Tamil cinema and will come as a fresh and unique form of story-telling. The upcoming film incidentally is the first full-time collaboration between Simbu and Venkat Prabhu after the flamboyant star made a cameo appearance in Goa in 2010. Apart from Simbu, SJ Suryah and Kalyani Priyadarshan, Maanaadu's multi-star cast also includes Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in pivotal roles.
