It's official - Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting August 11. The streaming giant has made the announcement about the OTT release date, which will no doubt come as happy news for fans, who continue to rave about the film on social media three weeks since it opened in cinemas worldwide. Having grossed more than 75 crores at the global box office, Maaveeran is yet another feather in the cap for Sivakarthikeyan, who has once again proven that he is a powerhouse and at the top of the league alongside the biggest names in Tamil cinema.

Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran is continuing to witness a good showing in theatres and the OTT release date will now allow audiences to watch the film at their own comfort along with their families. The film saw SK put up an astute performance once again alongside names like Aditi Shankar, who was seen as the female lead after Viruman (2022), and this time delivered a satisfactory performance. While Saritha as Sivakarthikeyan's mother hit the high note leaving audiences impressed, Mysskin too came up with a top-class performance as the antagonist, with Yogi Babu once again providing comic relief, while 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi's special voice-over turned out to be a major highlight in Maaveeran.
Maaveeran, a superhero fantasy political venture, produced by Arun Viswa's Shanthi Talkies banner is Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin's second directorial and the filmmaker hit the bullseye once again, with praises pouring in for the film's story, performances, and making. The film has done well overseas crossing $200,000 in gross collections in the first two days in the USA and is incidentally Sivakarthikeyan's biggest overseas release in his career. Maaveeran is undoubtedly a special film for SK after Doctor (2021) and Don (2022), which were huge box-office successes, and the actor-producer will be in high spirits for his upcoming films, Ayalaan, scheduled to release this Diwali in November and the tentatively titled SK 21, which he is currently filming in Kashmir.
