Saritha talks working with young silambarasan tr in t rajendar uravai kaatha kili movie maaveeran sivakarthikeyan - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Saritha made a big comeback after nearly a decade in Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran released recently and has been garnering praise once again for her impactful performance. A four-time recipient of the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, the iconic Tamil cinema actress sat down for a candid conversation with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about her role in the political fantasy action drama film, while also reminiscing about her glorious career in Tamil cinema.

During the interaction, Saritha opened up about her working experience with the multi-talented veteran filmmaker T. Rajendar, with whom she collaborated in Nenjil Oru Raagam (1982), Uyirullavarai Usha (1983), and Uravai Kaatha Kili (1984). Talking about working with T. Rajendar in Uravai Kaatha Kili, the celebrated actress said, "It was an amazing experience. He's a very emotional director. I usually have emotional scenes. He gets emotional. And, he's basically handling the camera, while also directing. He does everything. And, he also would act. So, when he's filming, he'll be breaking down (into tears) behind the camera after I perform, whichever scene it is. I would be moved (watching him get emotional)." She added, "The dialogues would be written by him, but he'd become very sentimental. And, it was the first time I had seen such a director. He's always been very kind and wrote nice characters for me. He would keep adding more dialogue on the shooting spot when the scene would come out well and write four more lines. And, he'd do this often. It was nice and I liked that skill of his. It's undoubtedly a big talent to manage everything single-handedly. And, very rarely do we see that kind of a combination in a director."

Speaking about the unique and rhythmic style of T. Rajendar's dialogue, Saritha shared, "It was easy. It would only be justice when we do what the director expects from us. It was easy because I'm also equally focused and I will be into it. No matter how detailed the dialogue is, I can do it. I'll keep taking up more challenges." Upon being asked about working with Silambarasan TR, who appeared as a child artiste in Uravai Kaatha Kili, she said, "He was cute. I vaguely remember, but his mom used to take care of him. He would perform on the spot if he's taught what to do when the camera begins rolling." Saritha continued, "Normally, in every alternate film, I would be cast with a child and I'm used to working with all the little kids from the ages of 6 months to 8-year-olds. So, Simbu was cute and always curious, and he would watch the shooting keenly."
