Tamil actress Sheela Rajkumar announced her separation from her husband Thambi Chozhan on Saturday, December 2. Having made her acting debut in Tamil in the Arulnithi and Aishwarya Rajesh-starrer Aarathu Sinam (2016), she informed the news of her divorce on social media in Tamil, while tagging Thambi Chozhan. Sheela, who recently made a cameo appearance in Jigarthanda DoubleX, wrote on X, "திருமண உறவிலிருந்து நான் வெளியேறுகிறேன் நன்றியும் அன்பும்" (Translation: I am stepping out of my marriage Thanks and Love @ChozhanV". Sheela, a Bharatanatyam artiste and actress, tied the knot with Thambi Chozhan, who runs an acting workshop. Although the actress hasn't revealed the reason for announcing her separation, their wedding back in 2016 was a reportedly love marriage.

Sheela Rajkumar made her lead debut role in filmmaker Chezhiyan's To Let (2017), which featured Shanthosh Sreeram and Dharun in key roles, with the film winning the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil while garnering immense appreciation from audiences and critics alike. She then made her Malayalam cinema debut in the smash hit Kumbalangi Nights (2019) alongside Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir, Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi, Shane Nigam, and Mathew Thomas. Sheela was then cast in Tamil in the lead role in director Mohan G's Draupathi (2020) and was featured in Yogi Babu's Mandela (2021), which earned filmmaker Madonne Ashwin the National Film Award for Best Debut Director and Best Dialogues at the 68th National Film Awards in 2022. Next, Sheela went on to be seen as Vijay Antony's sister in Pichaikkaran 2 earlier this year and was recently seen in the Tamil thriller, Noodles

Apart from her appearances in films, Sheela Rajkumar was also seen on television and played the female lead in the web series, Pettaikaali, which featured her alongside an ensemble cast that included Kalaiyarasan, Kishore, Vela Ramamoorthy in pivotal roles, and had National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran serving as the showrunner.
