The wait is over as the much-awaited title of leading Tamil actor Vishal's next film with blockbuster director Hari is now out, which up until now was being called Vishal 34. The duo's new film title is revealed to be titled Rathnam and is billed to be an out-and-out intense action feast announced to come out as a grand summer 2024 theatrical release. A special title announcement 'first shot' teaser for Rathnam was released on Friday, December 1, giving audiences a glimpse of Vishal in Hari's direction for the third time after their previous blockbusters Thamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014).

The Rathnam first shot teaser starts off showing an animation of several trucks arriving on a barren landscape and several horses running away, with Vishal stepping outside from one of the vehicles. The glimpse then shows the actor walking towards the statues of Hindu deities and picking up a sickle before pacing ahead with a lot of intensity in his eyes and slicing off the head of a person already on his knees. Based on the Rathnam first shot teaser, we get the hint that Vishal will be seen going after the bad guys and the wrongdoers amidst a rural backdrop, and there is considerable excitement surrounding the film as it is set to be the next big action feast from the Vishal and Hari combo.

Rathnam has Vishal cast opposite youth sensation Priya Bhavani Shankar, with the supporting cast featuring the likes of Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, and Gautham Vasudev Menon among others, while the songs and the background score are being composed by National Award-winning music director Devi Sri Prasad. The film's technical team boasts of big talents starting with cinematographer M. Sukumar, editor T S Jay, art director P V Balaji, and lyricist Viveka, with the stunts being choreographed by Kanal Kannan, Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Vicky since there are plenty of action sequences.
