Shakira fights for captives
Pop sensation Shakira, who has been named the Queen of Spanish music, praised the recent rescue of 15 captives from the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC). After the release of the captives, who had been held for six years, Shakira said that the fight against terrorism in the country is far from over.
In an open letter to the former hostages, Shakira, along with other music stars such as Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bose, Juanes, and Carlos Vives, pledged that the fight will go on until all the captives are freed. "We will continue until we see all of them free. Our eyes and lips will not rest until we see and kiss those who remain captives of those without conscience," the letter says.
