'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is less than two weeks away from arriving in theatres worldwide on October 19 and the buzz for the highly-anticipated gangster action drama is at an all-time high, especially after the release of the film's trailer earlier this week. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the upcoming film's trailer has been the talk of the town, with many expressing their excitement for the action-packed visuals. Having said that, the Leo trailer has also met with some controversy after Vijay was shown speaking a cuss word leaving a section of the audience divided, who have stated that an actor of his stature should not have spoken an expletive.

With the controversy surrounding the Leo trailer dialogue gaining steam, actor and filmmaker turned politician and the chief coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi, Seeman on Saturday, October 7, addressed the issue and said, "If you watch my brother Vetri Maaran's Vada Chennai, it is our language. We do not speak proper Tamil. If you watch web series, there are a lot of vulgar and derogatory words being used. It all comes down to how society perceives it. There's a mindset now that மயிறு (hair) is a bad word. Our Vedas also include and teach us that word. If it is a bad word, then why is everyone putting hair oil and grooming themselves? Once the hair falls, why are wigs being used? There are people who are also spending lakhs on hair transplantation. It's being given importance, right? There's no need to make such a big fuss about it. Is everyone smoking cigarettes just because Vijay is doing so? If he's drinking liquor, is everyone following him in his footsteps? There's no need to consider it as such. Either the Censor Board should have removed it or the word should be muted. It has come out in the trailer and there's no need to accuse Vijay for anything."
