After recently delivering yet another blockbuster with the release of Vendhu Thanindhatu Kaadu directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Silambarasan TR is all set to entertain the movie buffs with another upcoming action drama Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N. Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame. He will essay the role of an underworld don named AGR in this highly anticipated film. 

Shooting for the film is presently underway and a few new images have been taken at the shoot in which Simbu can be seen standing with the locals there who had come to the shooting spot to watch. It was taken by a fan who had gone to the shooting spot to check out the movie in making. The pictures in which Simbu can be seen wearing a shirt and mundu with long hair and a beard, have gone viral across various social media platforms. Pathu Thala is the remake of the 2017 Kannada neo-noir action thriller film Mufti. Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green, the Tamil version of the film will feature STR and Gautham Karthik in lead roles with the former reprising the role played by Kannada Superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar, and he will be seen playing the role of a don AGR, while the latter will be playing an undercover cop. Priya Bhavani Shankar will play the female lead in the film, while renowned filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon has also been added to the cast.
