Samantha Ruth Prabhu attended the 41st India Day Parade held in New York City on Monday, August 21, with photos and videos of her visit to the Big Apple taking social media by storm. All set to be seen next alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Kushi releasing on September 1, the leading Tamil actress took a break from work and celebrated Independence Day in the presence of the Indian diaspora. Samantha, who also posted pictures of herself meeting the people gathered for the 41st India Day Parade, reflected back on her career and shared that she shot her first film in New York when she started her career in the film industry. 

Having garnered massive popularity in her 14-year career in cinema, Samantha has been reigning at the top of the league for more than a decade now after she made her debut with the Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010). She wrote on Instagram, "They say New York is where dreams are made. I started my career when I shot for my first film here…. Attending the 41st India Day Parade and meeting fans in NYC, Samantha also presided as the Chief Guest at the event and said, "Jai Hind. It's truly an honor to be here today. You have made me realize how rich my culture and heritage is. Things I saw today will last for a lifetime. Thank you for supporting me throughout my career. Thank you, USA for supporting every single film of mine as your own." Samantha, who recently wrapped up shooting The Family Man fame director duo Raj and DK's Citadel: India with Varun Dhawan which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video soon, is currently on a break now and on a healing journey to recover from her autoimmune condition, Myositis.
