EXCLUSIVE: "When I opened my eyes in the ICU for the first time..." - Vijay Antony opens up about Pichaikkaran 2 accident! WATCH VIDEO!

Vijay Antony is a music director turned actor whose upcoming film Pichaikkaran 2 is set to release in theatres on May 19. He has also directed and edited the film that is a sequel to the blockbuster film of 2016 and it is produced by his wife Fatima Vijay Antony under the banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation. He also has Kavya Thapar playing the female lead and has Hareesh Peradi, Y Gee Mahendran, John Vijay and others in important roles. During the filming of the movie, the actor was involved in a serious boat accident and was injured in the face. He has now recovered fully from the accident.

Ahead of the release of Pichaikkaran 2, Vijay Antony sat down for an exclusive interview with national award-winning critic Baradwaj Rangan, the editor-in-chief of Galatta Plus. As the anchor asks how the accident has changed him and his perception of life. The actor said “Actually, I faced a major accident when I was 20 years old, when I was travelling on the bike, I fell down and I smashed into a huge stone and it cause five fractures here” said the actor pointing around to his right eye. "Normally if I am talking you won't be able to notice, but if I do hard work or if I am working without sleep then the side of my face will become slanting. At that time doctors advised me not to drive a bike as it could lead to fits (seizures). I was only earning an average amount of money at that time and so, I had to get a car by taking a loan. After that only, I began putting in my hard work. I began studying, working, and becoming a music director from being a sound engineer and building a studio after that. In the same way, I don't know if that's the reason now too, I have become more positive after the accident. There would be a small sadness or a concern always in mind right, now nothing is there. Post-accident I am very happy and good."

When asked how positive he felt after the accident, The composer Vijay Antony said “I don't understand sir, I have changed my working style to cloud sir, with my assistant directors and everyone, I have become quick in answering everyone, my decision-making has become instant. Instead of working directly, working/ on the cloud has improved the speed. Even when I opened my eyes for the first time in ICU, everyone was seeing at me with pity because I was positive and said 'it's nothing, I will recover'. At first, I did not know what happened during the accident, I only got to know about it afterwards.
