The teaser for the upcoming Mammootty-starrer Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam released today and has come out on the occasion of 'World Sleep Day'. As one may have guessed, yes, the teaser is completely about sleep. If you watch the teaser expecting it to be a thrilling joyride, then you have bamboozled yourself given the obvious hints dropped by the film's team. First discovered by a group of medical professionals way back in 2008, the day aims to raise awareness about the importance of a positive sleep cycle and good sleeping habits. In that context, the Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam teaser features Mammootty, along with the rest of the other cast members, including the animals featured to be in a state of sound asleep.
Doing justice to the film's title, the characters of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam are shown sleeping in broad daylight. The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by S Hareesh, with Bigg Boss Tamil sensation Ramya Pandian and Ashokan among others forming the supporting cast. Shot in Tamil Nadu and extensively around Palani, Theni Eswar is the cinematographer for Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, while Deepu Joseph is the film's editor. Mammootty has produced the film under his Mammootty Kampany Films Pvt Ltd banner in association with Lijo's Amen Movie Monastery. The entire film was shot in Tamil Nadu with its main location being Palani.
The teaser for Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam will no doubt get fans chattering on social media for its plot, which as of and based on the teaser will be around the concept of sleep. As for his other films, Mammootty is currently starring in the fifth installment of the CBI franchise, which has the veteran Malayalam superstar returning to the big screen as CBI officer Sethuramayya. Likewise, the National Award-winning actor is also awaiting the release of his Puzhu alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu, which is set to be headed for a direct OTT premiere.
