Dhanush starrer Thiruchitrambalam which released last week has been going strong and is still filling up seats in movie theatres. This lighthearted rom-com family drama is written and directed by Mithran R Jawahar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The films also stars Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj, Raashi Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in highly prominent roles. The film's music and the score are composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Speaking of the film's music, the song 'Megham Karukkatha' has been going viral all across the world. It has become a fan favorite for its jazzy music and wonderfully written lyrics which were penned by Dhanush himself under his alias Poetu Dhanush.
According to Spotify, Megham Karukkatha has managed to reach the Viral 50 both globally and in India and the Top 200 in India in the Spotify Daily category and reached Top 200 globally in the Spotify Weekly category. That is not all, the song has reached Top 100 in India in the Apple Music Daily category. Anirudh hits right out of the park with the laid-back Jazzy melody Megham Karukatha. Anirudh consistently keeps the background engaging with Yuri Villar's Saxophone and Jon-Paul Frappier's trumpet which effectually makes up for the passable Dhanush's vocals. Especially loved the way the trumpet sounds flow in tandem with the main melody. All this factors into the song being highly successful and well recieved by the public.
Thiruchitrambalam was released theatrically on 18 August 2022, to positive reviews from the critics with praise for the performances of the cast and music. The film was a huge critical and commercial success at the box office and is continuing to go strong.
