Lokesh Kanagaraj said "Leo is a very special film for me, and I have not tried this before. I have tried to do something experimental in this film. With the hard work that Vijay brother has put into the film, I have no words to say. He has put in a lot of effort. So, I am very interested in taking this to the audience. But for that time has to come." The director then explained that the shooting has wrapped up just now, and the next three months will be for post-production work of the film. He said he was very clear that they wanted more time for the post-production process of the film and that is why they finished the film early.

He has also explained why though they have wrapped up the filming of the movie early on the film is releasing iin October.
