Indian 2 is a film that has been in the making for a long time. The filming of the movie was delayed following an accident on the sets of the film. The filming of the anticipated sequel with 'Ulaga Nayagan' Kamal Haasan as lead then began in September 2022. It was then revealed that in March a Chennai schedule of filming the movie was wrapped. The schedule involved massive stunt sequences. Kamal Haasan then shared a photo on Instagram saying he is on the way to Taipei on April 1. The filming of the film then went on for a few days in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The cast and crew of the film have now posted pictures on social media saying they are bidding goodbye to the city. The director Shankar Shanmugan posted a photo saying “Bye Bye Taipei Indian 2" and tagged the talented Director of Photography Ravi Varman.

Kamal Haasan has also posted a classy picture from Taipei sporting coolers from a star hotel, with the caption "Good Afternoon." Margaux Lancaster, a motion picture makeup artist who is a part of the film, also shared some pictures with Kamal Haasan and stated “Have an amazing time on the next schedule, and we’ll see you in May”. She also shared a picture with actor Kalidas Jayaram, who is speculated to be a part of the film.
