It was an unforgettable evening at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on November 30 where several leading names from Tamil cinema joined in on the celebrations with fans. Among the big names at the gala event who were honored was actor Siddharth, who won the 'Best Performer of the Year - 2023', which he received from actress Sneha and Mr. Rajkumar, Chief Marketing Officer, Poppy Mattress. Siddharth started his speech by saying, "First of all, you all have begun the celebrations for our beloved child, Chithha, on OTT after its successful run in theatres. So, on behalf of our director Arun Kumar, the Chithha team, and most importantly, the two children who acted in our film, thank you so much. As a producer, Chithha is a life-changing experience because you all know how difficult it is to make a film that you would want to enjoy watching. My director Sasi sir once said that making a good film is hard and making a hit film is demanding, but making a good film and turning it into a hit is even more difficult, and you all have made it happen. So, thank you all so much. And, thank you Galatta, and thank you for this award. I feel proud to have won the 'Best Performer of the Year - 2023' award at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023."

Siddharth continued, "It's now 20 years since my film Boys was released. Many of you who are clapping here were born after Boys was released, but I express my gratitude for this ahead-of-time outpouring of love and wishes. I request you all to look after me for the next 20 years as I've already completed 20 years in cinema. Thank you for all the love. It's all for you." During an interactive session with the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 hosts VJ Archana Chandhoke and RJ Vijay, Siddharth was queried about staying the same over these past 20 years while querying him on how he manages to keep his age in check and at a reverse gear. The Chithha actor said, "If I tell you, you'll say I'm speaking arrogantly, but I won't age for the next 20 years. They (the audience) will see to it that I don't age. The secret to my youth is my fans. Their appreciation and love for me is the source of my energy and there's nothing that can measure up to it. Right before coming here from my home, I didn't look in the mirror and I had a belief within myself that I'd look good. And, that belief is what has brought me all the way here. So, thank you for the love."

Siddharth was also shown a picture of himself as someone following the footsteps of 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan, which draws a comparison with Dhanush's character in Vada Chennai in which he stands up for Rajan played by Ameer. Siddharth explained, "The below picture is a look at Vada Chennai that you all enjoyed. It gives the belief that there's a start for every big beginning and it's the same for the one above. He (Kamal Haasan) is my guru, irrespective of the distance; be it near or far. All of this is the path that he showed us and no matter what we do, he's taken ten times the risks and proved to everyone. So, we owe it to him and he's the Godfather of Tamil cinema for me, and we all are walking on the path he's laid out for us."

Siddharth's appearance at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 ended with a live performance by the actor of the chart-topping hit song 'Nira' from Takkar, with actor Dhruv Vikram also seen singing along as one among the fans at the stadium. Watch Siddharth at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 below:
