Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently riding high on the huge success of his latest film, Vikram, starring Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. The film has been performing exceptionally well at the box office and it has already created sensational records. With the success of Vikram garnering nationwide attention, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has become one of the most sought-after filmmakers and his lineup for the next few years looks comfortable and set. Lokesh's next directorial venture will star Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, marking the duo's second collaboration after the highly successful Master.

Tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, this film is expected to be officially announced on Vijay's birthday. Meanwhile, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, along with his dialogue writer and director Rathna Kumar, paid a visit to Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Temple and the pictures from their trip have garnered the attention of the fans. Along with Lokesh and Rathna, Jagadish Palanisamy, Vijay's manager was also spotted and this has made the fans firm up Thalapathy 67. Ever since the pictures surfaced on social media, the #Thalapathy67 hashtag has been the trending topic on Twitter.

While it is too early to talk anything about the film, Lokesh has assured in his interviews that this film will be completely his own film, unlike Master which had a 50-50 ratio. Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his next, Thalapathy 66 directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame. Produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film has music composed by Thaman S. The shooting of the film is currently happening in Hyderabad.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in this project that has Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Sangitha Krish, Yogi Babu, Samyuktha, Srikanth, Shaam in supporting roles. Well, let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for the official announcement on Thalapathy 67 until then.
