Two-time National Award-winning Tamil actor Dhanush will be kicking off 2024 on a big note with the highly-anticipated Captain Miller releasing in theatres worldwide for Pongal in January. Directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky (2021) and Saani Kaayidham (2022) fame, the upcoming film will feature music composed by National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar, with the first single 'Killer Killer' released recently turning out to be a chart-topping hit. Currently in the post-production stages, Dhanush on late Wednesday evening surprised fans by dropping a big update about the much-awaited Captain Miller trailer saying that it will be released soon, while also unveiling a still from the film.

In the picture, Dhanush is seen at the shooting spot lying atop a Triumph motorcycle with his face covered in a red cloth, while captioning his post on X, "Captain Miller .. Trailer soon. Pongal release." (sic) This latest update from the leading Tamil actor has lifted the spirits of fans, who have been waiting for an official word about the period action drama film set during the pre-Independence era. There is quite a lot of buzz for Captain Miller and the film's trailer, especially after the teaser released earlier this year on Dhanush's birthday received thunderous feedback from fans.

Captain Miller is billed to be one of the biggest films in Dhanush's career and is expected to take a massive opening in cinemas next year despite being pushed from its initial Diwali release plan back in November. The film will see the actor sharing screen space with Priyanka Arul Mohan, who is cast as the female lead, with Kannada superstar and Jailer fame Dr. Shivarajkumar, Maanagaram star Sundeep Kishan, Merku Thodarchi Malai hero Antony, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Thunivu villain John Kokken, and Malayalam actor Moor appearing in key supporting roles. Captain Miller is also the seventh time Dhanush and GV Prakash have collaborated after their previous collaborations Polladhavan (2007), Aadukalam (2011), Mayakkam Enna (2011), Asuran (2019), Maaran (2022), and Vaathi (2023), and fans expect the duo to hit the high note once again.
