Filmmaker-actor SJ Suryah was all praise in his statement about two-time National Award winner Dhanush on Monday, Christmas Day, and his work in his next big directorial, the tentatively titled D50. Stating that the Vaathi actor is a terrific director, SJ Suryah informed fans that his work in the raw and rustic D50 is on another level while calling the output in the film to be on an international scale. Complimenting Dhanush on his third directorial Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, SJ Surya posted on X, "Avaru super director TOO  ….  @dhanushkraja -ku Direction mela Yenna veri yenna dedication 🥰🥰🥰 Avaru Vera level #D50 our content, different treatment , “raw&rustic” international out put 👍👍👍🥰sjs & all the best to NEEK TOO" (sic)

D50 is Dhanush's second directorial after Pa Paandi (2017) and has been reported to be a gangster drama film. Several big names are said to be a part of the upcoming film's star cast, with SJ Suryah now officially confirming his role for the first time. Announced earlier this year in January, production went into full swing in July, with a special poster showing Dhanush sporting a completely new look for his role in the film. D50, also being called DD2, wrapped up principal photography a few days back after non-stop shooting, with fans now looking forward to a glimpse of the film along with the announcement of the title and the rest of the star cast in the days ahead. 

There is tremendous excitement surrounding D50 as reports have stated that Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan too is a part of the high-profile project. Although the star cast is yet to be officially announced, the technical team of the film includes several notable names who have associated with Dhanush on various ventures in the past starting with cinematographer Om Prakash, editor Prasanna G. K., art director Jacki, publicity designer Kabilan, and costume designer Kavya Sriram.
