Tamil Nadu government issued a press release on Wednesday as part of its daily update on the number of positive coronavirus cases across the state. The government revealed that 1,236 people had tested positive for the disease on June 3 making it the biggest single day jump for the state to date with the total now coming to 25,872 cases. With the state crossing the 25,000 mark in the number of positive COVID-19 patients, Chennai city still continues to be the worst-affected with the day seeing 1,012 cases and is incidentally also the first occasion the metropolitan city has crossed 1,000 cases.

There were 11 deaths recorded today with the death toll in Tamil Nadu currently standing at 208 persons deceased due to the fatality of the coronavirus disease. On the other hand, 610 people were recorded to have made a recovery and were discharged for their homes taking the state's total to 14, 316. Tamil Nadu's recovery rate is at present standing at 55.33% and is one of the finest in the country.
