An iconic name among Tamil cinema fans, veteran actor Senthil has over 250 films to his credit as a comedian, including making appearances in supporting roles. All set to make his debut as a hero in the upcoming Sathiya Sodhanai directed by Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu fame Suresh Sangaiah, Senthil came across an unfortunate hindrance after a few miscreants created a fake Twitter account in his name, which allegedly tweeted wrong messages about the Tamil Nadu government and Chief Minister MK Stalin. In a complaint filed on Monday at the Chennai Police Commissioner's office in Vepery, the veteran actor requested that the fake account be removed from active status, including action be taken against the miscreants.

Senthil, who has been a part of Tamil cinema for more than 40 years, addressed media persons and informed them that he doesn't have any presence on any social networking platform. He also added that he had come across the news about the fake Twitter account spreading misinformation under his name through his friends. Senthil stated, "I am one who minds his own business. These kinds of instances by a few people are only causing distress to many others. I have filed a complaint to the Cyber Cell and they have given me an assurance that adequate action will be taken."

Senthil has been a household name across Tamil Nadu and among the Tamil-speaking people around the world for his antics alongside legendary Tamil comedy superstar Goundamani in several films. Throughout their careers, the duo have left a huge mark in comedy in Tamil cinema and have influenced many actors and actresses with their performances. Senthil, who usually plays a second fiddle role to Goundamani in their films, had sometime back tested positive for COVID-19 and has since also made a recovery.
