Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 came to a spectacular conclusion last weekend after the grand finale, which saw actor Aari Arujunan emerging as the title winner. Hosted by Kamal Haasan again for the fourth consecutive time, Bigg Boss 4's first runner up was declared to be Balaji Murgadoss, followed by Rio Raj as the second runner up, Ramya Pandian coming in as the third runner up, with Som Shekar finishing as the fourth runner up. Among them, Som, who was last seen in high spirits at the Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 success event, had not made any appearances on social media post the finale, raising questions, including several speculations among fans. 

Now, Som has in a video on his Instagram page revealed that he has been stationed at Guruvayur after the Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 finale and had not made any appearances on social media due to his ill health. Taking to Instagram, Som said, "I hope you all are doing fine. I want to thank all of you for your love and support and for voting in my favour to bring me to the finale. I am speechless. Over the past three to four days, many people have been asking me why I wasn't to be seen on social media." 

Som said, "First up, I want to say sorry because I have been sick and am now feeling better. I am currently stationed at Kerala and am on a visit to seek blessings at the Guruvayur Temple. I have prayed to the Almighty for your well-being and myself. Many have been asking me when I will be appearing in a live session on Instagram. Please give me another three or four days time so I can return to Chennai again and will do a live session then. And, I have also been reading your comments and I hope to reply back to all of you. And, always remember, we are blessed, we will survive and never ever give up."

This first statement from Som Shekar will no doubt give a big sigh of relief to the model-actor's fans, who have been in admiration of him and his straight-forward friendly attitude during his stay in the Bigg Boss 4 house. It is to be noted that Som had turned out to be a strong contender to take home the title, especially after he emerged victorious on the points table during the Ticket To Finale challenge. His last screen appearance was in a cameo role in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru and we can expect bigger roles in store for him, especially after his astounding run in Bigg Boss Tamil season 4.
