Aishwarya Rajinikanth's next big film, Lal Salaam, wrapped up its second schedule on Sunday, July 16, and the Tamil filmmaker shared the news along with pictures from actor Vishnu Vishal's birthday celebrations on the sets. The hit director took to social media to reveal that they had completed the second schedule after working for 18 hours straight and rang in the pre-birthday celebrations for Vishnu Vishal ahead of his big day on July 17. Posting photos on Instagram from the Lal Salaam second schedule wrap party and Vishnu Vishal's pre-birthday celebrations, Aishwarya Rajinikanth wrote in the caption: "18 working hours straight … 2 cakes …2 things to celebrate 🎉 2am 2nd schedule wrap ! 🎬 Pre birthday 🎂 for the birthday boy @thevishnuvishal and wrap up 🎂 at 2am with sleepy smiles ! #thankful #grateful 😇 #lalsalaam (sic)".
Vishnu Vishal is playing one of the lead roles alongside Vikranth in Lal Salaam, a cricket-based film, which also has Aishwarya Rajinikanth's father 'Superstar' Rajinikanth appearing in an extended cameo as a character named Moideen Bhai. The film is also Aishwarya Rajinikanth's fourth directorial after she made films 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015), and the documentary venture Cinema Veeran (2017). The excitement for Lal Salaam shot up after Rajinikanth's casting was announced and it also marks the first time he is collaborating with his younger daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth after working in Soundarya Rajinkanth's 3D animated action film, Kochadaiiyaan (2014).
Filming on Lal Salaam has been progressing at a steady pace and Rajinikanth wrapped up filming his portions last week. The film produced under the Lyca Productions banner will also feature music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and there are huge expectations for him to deliver a cracker of an album once again. It is to be noted that legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev too will be seen appearing in Lal Salaam, with Rajinikanth sharing a photo of his interaction with India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain on the film's sets back in May.
