Ponniyin Selvan: 2 is set for a grand release in theatres tomorrow. The first part of the movie was released in October and was a blockbuster hit. The Magnum Opus of Mani Ratnam is mounted on a mammoth budget and has a huge star cast of Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram and others in important roles. Ahead of the release of the film the cast and crew of the film were on tour to promote the film across India with events in major cities including Coimbatore, Cochin, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Trichy, etc

As the PS:2 promotion has come to an end today, actor Karthi has shared a classy new reel and a interesting caption on his Instagram account. The reel shows various looks of the actor from the promotional tour and some candid moments that he shared with other cast including Jayam Ravi, A.R. Rahman, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai. He has shared the reel with the background music of Dhilli Theme from Vikram. The actor has shared it with an emotional statement saying “The promotional tour has come to an end. We had a lot of fun travelling together but never expected it to turn out to be emotional too”. He has said that it is "all set for the Big Day Tomorrow."
Actor Karthi played the role of a Vallavarayan Vandhiyadevan in both films of Ponniyin Selvan. People would get to know the characters in Ponniyin Selvan: 1 through the charming character and acts as a messenger to the prince and princess of the Chola Empire. This is the second time the actor is collaborating with the director Mani Ratnam after Kaatru Veliyidai, who has also worked with the director as an assistant. The cast of Ponniyin Selvan had said earlier that they had become close during the filming and during promotions. The anticipated film Ponniyin Selvan: 2 is set to release in theatres on April 28.
