The news of Marimuthu's passing away has come as a big shock to the Tamil film fraternity, with many leading celebrities and fans paying their tributes and condolences. With the news that Marimuthu was dubbing his lines for Ethirneechal today morning, details regarding his last moments have now been shared by one of the studio technicians in an exclusive interview with Galatta.

The dubbing studio assistant explained, "Sir (Marimuthu) came in for dubbing at 6:30 a.m. and was chatting as usual with all of us. It was around 8 a.m. and he came in to dub for an episode. After a short while, he said that he was experiencing suffocation and wanted to take a break for 10 minutes. He was sitting outside, while I was setting up the equipment in the studio. When I came to check on him, he wasn't there to be found. When I tried calling, he did not answer his phone. His daughter then called and informed me that he had been admitted to the hospital because he was feeling discomfort. Upon reaching the hospital, they informed us that he passed away." Sharing that Marimuthu would often take breaks during the dubbing sessions, the studio assistant who had been working with the Ethirneechal actor for more than two years, stated that he had provided the voice for half of his lines today adding that he wasn't able to complete the remaining seven minutes of his portions.

Speaking further about Marimuthu's work ethic, the dubbing assistant said, "He would always aim for perfection and want the best to come out in everything he did. He would also expect his co-actors to uphold the same commitment. It will be a good experience to work with him and he too would talk freely with everyone. His passing away is difficult for us to process and we miss him a lot already."
