Leading Tamil channel Zee Tamil recently announced the launch of their next grand attempt - SURVIVOR - after acquiring the rights for the adaptation of the smash hit international reality TV show. Survivor Tamil will feature a total of 16 contestants participating, who will be made to stay on an isolated island, while being provided with limited and very few essential resources for their survival. Zee Tamil had sometime back announced that popular Tamil hero 'Action King' Arjun would be the host of Survivor, including releasing an intriguing promo leaving many quite curious about the show. In that light, actor Arya on Sunday took to social media to unveil the next big announcement for Survivor, revealing that the Tamil version of the hit international show will begin from September 12 and telecast everyday (Monday-Sunday) from 9.30 - 10.30 p.m. on Zee Tamil. 

Apart from Survivor's broadcast details, the first 6 contestants participating on the next big Tamil reality show have also been announced. The contestants are:

1) Veteran National Award-winning actor Thambi Ramaiah's son Umapathy Ramaiah,
2) Mounam Pesiyadhe and Eeram fame actor Nandha,
3) Acclaimed Tamil film director Agathiyan's daughter and Chennai 600028 heroine Vijayalakshmi,
4) Actress Gayathri Reddy, known for playing the female footballer Maari, in Thalapathy' Vijay's Bigil,
5) Actor and stunt choreographer Besant Ravi, 
6) VJ Parvathy, Galatta Media's own star VJ, who has risen to grand heights, and will also be seen in a number of big films next,
7) Vikranth of Pandianadu, Nenjil Thunivirundhal and Bakrid fame,
8) Actress Srushti Dange, known for starring in Kaththukkutti, Dharma Durai and Chakra.

The contestants on Survivor will be spending around 100 days inside an island and the last surviving contestant will be declared the winner of the show. Expectations for Survivor are massive considering the show enjoys a huge fan following around the globe for its international version and it will no doubt be interesting to witness how the Tamil edition will fare.
