'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi stunned fans with yet another power-packed performance as the villain in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master, which came out last month as a grand Pongal release. Seen next in the anthology Kutty Story and his Telugu debut Uppena, the versatile actor has a number of big Tamil projects lined up ahead among which include director S. P. Jananathan's Laabam, Vignesh Shivn's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Delhi Prasad Deenadayal's Tughlaq Durbar, Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan, Venkata Krishna Roghanth's Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Kadaisi Vivasayi under Kaaka Muttai fame M. Manikandan's direction, veteran filmmaker R. Sundarrajan's son Deepak Sundarajan directorial debut Annabelle Subramaniam, followed by the multilingual silent film Gandhi Talks, 19(1)(a) opposite Nithya Menen in Malayalam and his Bollywood debut Mumbaikar under cinematographer Santosh Sivan's direction, which incidentally is an official remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram

Among the long list of films, promotions on Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam have resumed once again after a trailer was released last year. Produced jointly by Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7Cs Entertainment Pvt Ltd banners, the upcoming mass action social drama film has Shruti Haasan playing the female lead, with D. Imman composing the music. In that light, the much-awaited 'Yaazha Yaazha' song from Laabam sung by Shruti Haasan to lyrics penned by Yugabharathi has been released with a song video showing new visuals from the film. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing the role of a social activist in Laabam in which he has been paired opposite Shruti Haasan, while popular Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu is the antagonist. 

Laabam is the second time Vijay Sethupathi teamed up with director S. P. Jananathan after their Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai in 2015. The upcoming film includes a talented supporting cast featuring names like Sai Dhanshika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak, Prithivi Rajan, Daniel Annie Pope, Nithish Veera, Jai Varman among others. In addition, the technical team for Laabam has several notable talented names among whom are Ramji for cinematography, followed by N.Ganesh Kumar for editing, V. Selvakumar for art direction and Don Ashok overseeing the stunts.
