Vijay Sethupathi CONFIRMS walking out of this Mega Biggie!
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi was initially supposed to make his debut in Hindi cinema with the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, but later he opted out of the project due to undisclosed reasons. There were rumours that claimed that Vijay Sethupathi was replaced since he did not lose his weight for his character in the film, but the talented actor has denied the rumour. He clarified that he could not take up the project due to date issues. Talking to popular Bollywood media, Spotboy E, Vijay Sethupathi said, "Aamir Sir personally offered me the role. He flew down to a small town in Tamil Nadu where I was shooting to narrate the script to me. For some reason, the director Advait Chandan couldn’t come. Aamir Sir came alone, narrated the script and stayed overnight in that town, and left the next morning.
Such a big superstar and no airs. And he is a marvellous storyteller. The way he narrated the story was mesmerizing. I immediately said yes. Then COVID happened. It ransacked all our plans. After the lockdown, I had five Telugu projects in various stages of production to complete. I just couldn’t accommodate Laal Singh Chaddha in my schedule.”. This clarification has put an end to all the rumours and speculations regarding the reason behind Vijay Sethupathi's exit from Laal Singh Chaddha.
Vijay Sethupathi had a great start to this year with his performance in Thalapathy Vijay's Master turning out to be a rage among the masses. Vijay Sethupathi impressed the audience with his killer performance as 'Bhavani' and his face-off against Vijay was one of the biggest highpoints of the film. Up next, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing the lead in director SP Jhananathan's Laabam that is currently in post-production stages. Laabam is scheduled to release in theatres in April. Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy acting in Mumbaikar, the Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram.
Mumbaikar is directed by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan.
