A project that sparked off instant interest among Telugu cinema fans was when it was announced that 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan would be remaking the 2016 Bollywood film Pink, starring legendary Hindi actor Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. Pink, which was first remade in Tamil as Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019 with 'Thala' Ajith Kumar in the lead role, went on to become a box office success, giving reputed producer Dil Raju the much-needed confidence to proceed with a Telugu remake titled Vakeel Saab and featuring Pawan Kalyan reprising Amitabh Bachchan and Ajith's roles as a lawyer.

A joint collaboration between producers Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under their Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bayview Projects LLP banners, Vakeel Saab has been directed by Sriram Venu of MCA and Oh My Friend fame, with an action-packed teaser released a few days back. The Vakeel Saab teaser started a big debate on how faithful a remake the courtroom drama is going to be in comparison to both Pink and Nerkonda Paarvai, considering the Telugu version relied heavily on action, which was only a secondary element in the Tamil version with Ajith. As the hype surrounding Vakeel Saab is getting higher, the makers dropped a bombshell announcement on Saturday informing fans about the film's theatrical release date.

Taking to Twitter, Sri Venkateswara Creations announced that Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab will be storming its way into theatres on April 9, 2021. The reputed production banner wrote, "The POWER is set to unleash on the BIG SCREEN Power Star  @PawanKalyan ’s #VakeelSaab in theatres from April 9, 2021. #VakeelSaabOnApril9th". Apart from Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, Shruti Haasan will be making an important appearance in the film, which will also include actresses Nivetha Thomas, Anjali and Ananya Nagalla, who have been cast as the victims around whom the narrative is set around. Top trending South Indian composer S. Thaman, who has delivered a number of hits of late, is the music director for Vakeel Saab. Expectations for Vakeel Saab are massive considering it will be the first time since Agnyaathavaasi in 2018 that Pawan Kalyan will once again be seen on the big screen.
