A film that was initially planned for a theatrical release in 2020 was the Karthi starrer Sulthan, which got pushed due to the pandemic after production got delayed. As the lockdown came to a close, shooting on Sulthan was wrapped up in quick time, with post-production works being carried out at a steady pace since then. Directed by Remo fame Bakkiyaraj Kannan under SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures banner, fans have been waiting for an update on the film for a while, with the makers dropping a major announcement on Saturday.

Taking to his Twitter page, producer S R Prabhu informed fans that the much-awaited Sulthan teaser will be coming out on February 1 at 5PM. The wait for Karthi's Sulthan teaser has been a long one and fans will no doubt be mighty happy with this latest announcement as they had last witnessed the actor in Thambi in late 2019. The hype surrounding Sulthan has been huge, with fans expecting the film to top the success of Karthi's Kaithi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which turned out to be a raging blockbuster when it came out in theatres for Diwali in 2019. Check out below SR Prabhu's tweet about the Sulthan teaser release date:

Apart from Karthi, Sulthan also marks the Tamil cinema debut of South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna, whose entry has been long awaited. The film also includes veteran actor Napoleon playing the role of Karthi's father.Expectations for Sulthan are high as a lot has been said about the film in recent times, with director Bakkiyaraj Kannan focused on making it a top-class entertainer for all ages.

Billed to be a fun-filled action romance entertainer, the Sulthan first look poster was unveiled as a festive treat on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, which had Karthi fans convinced that there will be plenty of mass masala commercial elements in the film. The film is said to be one of the biggest ventures to have been made by Dream Warrior Pictures, who are planning to package it into a complete entertainer. Sulthan includes a strong technical team among whom include the Vivek-Mervin duo for the music, followed by cinematography by Kaithi and Master fame Sathyan Sooryan, while Ruben is the editor.
