Today (February 19) marks the hundredth day of Suriya's Soorarai Pottru. The film which released on November 12, directly on Amazon Prime Video, has crossed 100 days, and marking the special occasion, the makers have released a new deleted scene from the film. This video showcases the humiliations faced by the film's lead character, Maara, at different phases of his life. Suriya's emotionally charged performance is one of the highlights of Soorarai Pottru and we get to see that in this deleted scene. This video has got an outstanding response from the fans and the film buffs are expressing their thoughts about it. The majority of the audience feels that this scene could have been retained in the film. We are not sure why the sequences in the newly released video were removed from the final cut.

Suriya's performance is a treat to watch and these scenes add more strength to the emotions. Soorarai Pottru is directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment, in association with Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. The film is based on the real-life incidents of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan Airlines and director Sudha Kongara managed to pack the film with the right amount of all the commercial elements. While Aparna Balamurali played the female lead, the film's star cast included several other talented artists including Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Mohan Babu, Karunaas, Vivek Prasanna, Krishna Kumar, Kaali Venkat, Achyuth Kumar, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Poo Ramu, and others. All the actors delivered their best performances and Soorarai Pottru was definitely a film that stood high in terms of acting.

GV Prakash scored the music for the film and his work turned out to be one of the major strengths of the film. Niketh Bommi and Sathish Suriya handled the film's cinematography and editing departments respectively. The film opened to highly positive reviews from the critics and general audience and it became one of the best films in Suriya's career. Soorarai Pottru was widely celebrated by the people of Tamil Nadu. It was dubbed and released in Telugu as Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa. The film was also dubbed and released in Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Soorarai Pottru recently had its world television premiere on Sun TV and it was aired on January 14 for the festive occasion of Pongal.
