Suriya's next film with director Pandiraj was officially launched this morning (February 15) with a special pooja and the film's shooting has also started in style. The entire cast and crew, excluding Suriya, took part in the pooja and the pictures from the event have been officially released. The pictures have now gone viral on social media and everyone is looking forward to the movie. A few days before, Suriya got tested positive for Corona virus and he is currently in the process of recovery. Due to that reason, he did not take part in the pooja event. Tentatively called Suriya 40, this film will be bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures and the film is planned to be shot on a grand scale.

Doctor fame Priyanka Arul Mohan will be seen as the female lead and it is indeed good that the young talent has already bagged a mega biggie in the initial stages of her career. The film features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini, Ilavarasu, Subbu Panchu, Tiger Thangadurai, 'Vada Chennai' fame Saran Shakthi, Master fame Cibi, and others. We are informed by our close sources that the first schedule of Suriya 40 will take place from today (February 15) to February 27. It is said that director Pandiraj has planned to shoot scenes that don't involve Suriya for the initial few days.

After recovering from Corona virus and completing the quarantine process, Suriya will join the sets of the film soon. The film will have music scored by D Imman who is collaborating with Pandiraj for the third time after the massive success of Kadai Kutty Singam and Namma Veettu Pillai. Ace cinematographer R Rathnavelu (aka) Randy will be taking care of the film's visuals and he is working with Suriya after Vaaranam Aayiram. Ruben and Soorarai Pottru fame Jacki are assigned to head the editing and art direction departments respectively.

Suriya 40 is a rural entertainer that is said to appeal to all kinds of audiences.
