Veteran Telugu actor Chiranjeevi is celebrating his 66th birthday, with the superstar's fans world over getting several treats in the form of his upcoming film announcements. Lovingly called by his countless fans as 'Megastar', Chiranjeevi, who will next be seen in the highly-anticipated Acharya, recently kicked off shooting for his Godfather, initially tentatively titled Chiru 153. An official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer starring National Award-winning actor Mohanlal, the title of Godfather was announced on Saturday in light of Chiranjeevi's birthday today. The fun for 'Megastar' fans doesn't stop there as Telugu actor Mahesh Babu took to social media on Sunday to formally make the announcement on Chiranjeevi's upcoming film, which has been titled Bholaa Shankar and will be the first-time association for the superstar with director Meher Ramesh. Tweeting the announcement of the launch of i, including unveiling the film's motion poster, Mahesh Babu tweeted, "Happy birthday @KChiruTweets garu🤗 Honoured to be unveiling the title of your film! #BholaaShankar, under the directorial skills of my good friend @MeherRamesh and my favourite producer @AnilSunkara1 garu. May the year ahead bring you great health and success. All the best sir!"

Bholaa Shankar, being produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara and Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments in association with Creative Commercials, will also see Chiranjeevi sharing screen space with leading South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh, and the duo will be seen as siblings in the film. Bholaa Shankar is said to be an official remake of the blockbuster 'Thala' Ajith Kumar-starrer Vedalam in Tamil, with the makers also releasing a special promo featuring both Chiranjeevi and Keerthy Suresh coming together and sending their Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi) wishes to fans. In the Rakhi with Bholaa Shankar announcement promo, we can hear Keerthy Suresh extending her wishes to Chiranjeevi, and the collaboration of 'Megastar' with the actress, who won the National Award for her sensational performance in Mahanati, will no doubt be a big USP for the film as the Tamil version, Vedalam’s story was centered around Ajith and his sister played by Lakshmi Menon.

The makers of Bholaa Shankar have announced in a statement that the title was chosen, given Chiranjeevi is a kind-hearted genuine person with a childlike innocence and no conspiracies in mind in real life. Furthermore, they stated that the title was an apt one as Lord Shiva is also called Bholaa Shankar for his generosity and kind nature. The Howrah Bridge and Kali Mata temple in Kolkata can be seen, with Mahati Swara Sagar’s background score for the motion poster lending the perfect blend. Production for Bholaa Shankar will begin soon, with the film announced to come out in theatres in 2022. Watch the Rakhi with Bholaa Shankar promo below feat. Chiranjeevi and Keerthy Suresh:
