In a shocking incident, leading Marathi film actress Sonalee Kulkarni's father, Manohar Kulkarni, suffered an injury after a knife attack by a man who trespassed into their house at 7:30 am on Tuesday morning. The police have identified the suspect to be a 24-year-old and are currently investigating the motives behind his barged entry into the actress' house in Nigdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad. In their report, the police have stated that the suspect climbed into the house on a pipe and on to the terrace before eventually being spotted by the housekeeping staff.

The police added that Sonalee's father, Manohar Kulkarni, who is in his late 50s, stood upfront and confronted the trespasser, who pulled out a knife and attacked him on his hand. The suspect then fled from the spot, but was soon caught by the people in the neighborhood and handed over to the police. An officer from the Nigdi police station said, "The man’s motive is being probed. Our primary probe points to him being a fan of the actress. While the family said in their statement that the suspect’s motive was robbery, only subsequent probe will ascertain the exact cause. During the attempt to apprehend him, he attacked them with a knife and the complainant faced a minor injury. The case has been registered under sections Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 511 (moral guilt and injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 452."

Starting her career as a model, Sonalee Kulkarni eventually made her transition to the world of entertainment and debuted in Marathi cinema. She later went on to enter Hindi films in the adult sex comedy, Grand Masti, opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, including a cameo appearance in Ajay Devgan's Singham 2. After introducing to the world her fiancée Kunal Benodekar, a chartered accountant by profession, on her birthday in 2020, the couple got married in Dubai in the first week of May this year.
