The Chirayu Medical College in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal witnessed an accomplishment on Monday when 108 coronavirus patients were discharged taking the count of the hospital to 1,000 patients making a recovery and being sent back home. As a result, Chirayu Medical College has become the first hospital in India to discharge 1,000 patients after being treated for the COVID-19 virus with the recovery rate in Bhopal now reaching more than 60 percent.

Madhya Pradesh's Health Minister Narottam Mishra had participated in a small ceremony organized by the hospital authorities to honor the patients who shared their experiences about their treatment. Among the patients who were treated in the hospital, a first-year student named Bhumika said, "I had been admitted for 12 days. The staff took really good care of us. They gave us courage to fight the virus,". Another patient too spoke about the treatment saying, "I was admitted to the hospital on May 7. I stayed for 15 days in the ICU. I am really grateful to each and every staff in the hospital. They have taken good care of me during my stay here,".
