One of the most watched programs on Indian television, Bigg Boss has seen a transition to other regional languages as well, with the smash hit reality show turning out to be an astounding success in Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla as well apart from the Hindi original version. That said, Bigg Boss Malayalam, which is currently in its third season and being hosted by veteran superstar Mohanlal, is reportedly witnessing an unexpected turn of events.

According to reports, Bigg Boss Malayalam 3, which is being filmed on the sets erected at the EVP Gardens on the outskirts of Chennai, has met with a setback as six contestants who are participating on the show have tested COVID-19 positive and are at present quarantined for further treatment. Reports also indicate that Bigg Boss Malayalam 3 has stopped as of now, with the show expected to resume once again possibly after a couple of weeks. As a result, we could see the proceedings on Bigg Boss Malayalam 3 getting extended for a further period of time as the show has completed 89 days so far and is expected to come to a wrap after it completes 114 days.

Bigg Boss Malayalam 3 isn't the only show to face such a situation as Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 too was recently stopped midway after the Karnataka government enforced the lockdown in the state as a precaution against the further spread of the deadly virus. Both Bigg Boss Malayalam season 3 and Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 have been getting terrific TRP ratings since they began airing a few months back, with expectations that the shows would go on to emulate a similar kind of success that the recent editions of the Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions witnessed towards the end of last year.
