Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film is Annaatthe which has got huge expectations among the fans and film buffs. This rural action entertainer is directed by Siva who is in prime form after the blockbuster success of his last film, Viswasam. Produced by Sun Pictures, Annaatthe features an ensemble star cast that includes names like Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish and others. Having said that, news about the presence of one more actor in Annaatthe has now been revealed. Yes! The young and promising actor Arjai will be seen playing an important role in this Siva directorial.

Arjai took to his official social media page to share this good news with his followers and well-wishers. He also thanked director Siva, Sun Pictures and the technical team of Annaatthe for giving him the opportunity to share screen space with his favourite actor, Rajinikanth. For the uninformed, Arjai has acted in films like Naan Sigappu Manithan, Massu Engira Masilamani, Bangalore Naatkal, Theri, Yaman, Sandakozhi 2, Ayogya, Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, etc. He was last seen in Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's Velvet Nagaram which released just a few days before the lockdown.

Coming back to Annaatthe, the film has music by D Imman, cinematography by Vetri and editing by Ruben. This movie is expected to showcase Rajinikanth in a completely different dimension and the fans are excitedly waiting to witness it on screen. It has been quite a while since we saw Rajinikanth in the rural backdrop (excluding the minimal flashback portions in Petta) and it is going to be an interesting makeover to watch out for. The film is tentatively scheduled to hit the screens for next year’s Pongal, but the plans are subject to change as per the development in the pandemic situation.

Annatthe is said to deal with the relationship between a brother (Rajinikanth) and his younger sister (played by Keerthy Suresh) and their sentiment is touted to be the core emotion of the film. The makers have completed two schedules in Ramoji Rao Film City and the rest of the portions will be shot when everyone is declared safe from the pandemic. Being a big budget film shot on a grand scale, Annaatthe demands a lot of manpower and actors and so it wouldn’t be possible to resume shooting with restrictions.
