The wait has finally come to an end for leading Tamil actor Dhanush's fans everywhere as the first look and the title of his next big film, D50, is now out. The highly-anticipated film, which has also been called as DD2, is his celebrated actor's second directorial after Pa Paandi (2017), and will see him sporting a new look for his role. Sharing the big announcement, Dhanush revealed that D50 is titled Raayan in an electrifying first look poster, which showcases him alongside Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan, with whom the two-time National Award winner is sharing screen space for the second time after Captain Miller (2024).
The Raayan first look shows Dhanush as a fast food chef and sporting short hair, with Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram most likely appearing as his siblings. The poster is intense and suggests that the film could be along the lines of a gangster drama. Dhanush has also confirmed for the first time that Raayan will include songs and a background score by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, and is their fifth time collaborating after films Raanjhanaa (2013), Maryan (2013), and Atrangi Re (2021), with their upcoming Bollywood film, Tere Ishk Mein under Aanand L. Rai's direction also in development.
Announced to be coming out in cinemas in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages, Raayan is one of the several big projects Dhanush is currently attached to this year and is his set to be his next big release after the success of his Captain Miller. The upcoming film's star cast is also said to include Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan, S J Suryah, and Dushara Vijayan, and more announcements and updates are expected to be follow suit soon. The hype surrounding Raayan has been massive right from the get-go and all eyes will now be on what Dhanush has been cooking for his fans.
