Filmmaker Prabhuram Vyas has hit the bullseye in his big-screen directorial debut, Lover, starring Good Night star K. Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya of Modern Love Chennai fame in the lead roles. The romantic drama film also featuring music composed by Sean Roldan is receiving a tremendous response from audiences and critics alike, while also stirring a big conversation about love and relationships among young couples. Prabhuram Vyas, who is best known for the hit web series Livin', has now in a one-on-one discussion with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, opened up on the various aspects of Lover, while also explaining how the relationship of Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya's characters survived in college.

Speaking about the backstory of Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya's characters in Lover, "I think in college it's normalized so much. In college, when the relationship is starting out, being possessive is equal to being caring. Since such a thing was there, it was normalized. And, he too would mention at a place that she wouldn't go anywhere without informing him. That was a normalcy in college. Like letting know where they were going and whatever roles they were playing. But, when she's moving out of college, getting into her work, getting more exposure, it is only then when her perspective about life begins to change and these problems begin to surface."

Explaining further about the relationship of Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya's characters in Lover, Prabhuram Vyas explained, "There would be a lot to share when you're studying in the same college. But, once you've stepped out and when life begins to change, the things to share also start to lessen." He added, "I think the models she probably saw while studying in college was making it normal for her and, so she didn't question it. The models change as we get more exposure and I view it that way."
