'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo has taken a sensational start at the worldwide box office minting 148.5+ crores on day one and is gearing up to become one of the biggest successes in Tamil cinema history. The mass action drama directed by blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander has been produced by 7 Screen Studio's Lalit Kumar, who has now in a one-on-one conversation with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, opened up on the big differences in making a film with Vijay in comparison to ventures with other heroes.

Speaking about making Leo, Lalit Kumar explained, "I feel that producing a film with Vijay sir is easy now. There's that comfort zone. I've done two films with him. Be it Master and Leo, there's a comfort zone while working with him. What I mean by comfort zone is that he will get his work done on time according to the shooting plan. He will dedicate the first 22 days to filming without any gaps (working even during the weekends) and this allows for the production to be properly completed as early as possible. Releasing a big-scale film like this within 10 months is no ordinary feat. And, it's been possible because of Vijay sir's dates, which allowed for everything to be planned properly. When the number of [shooting] days gets reduced, the budget and interest in production will come down automatically, which makes it easier to plan for the release."

Leo has chartered new territories while taking a head start at the box office and more new records are expected to be made in the days ahead. The film is yet another feather in the cap for the Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Anirudh, and Lalit Kumar team after their Master (2021), and the team will be looking forward to its theatrical run to scale new peaks.
