June 7 - TN COVID Update: 1515 New Cases | 18 New Deaths | Total - 31,667 Cases & 269 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official number of the COVID-19 cases are released and June 7th has now become the seventh consecutive day recording above 1000 infections in Tamil Nadu. Today again overtakes yesterday to become the single day with the highest number of registered cases in Tamil Nadu. The official numbers of COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases in Tamil Nadu are out and we have it for you. The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 1515 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 31,667! Of these, 1,155 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 22,127! 

There have been 18 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 269. As of now, Chennai is the biggest hotspot in the state and has 22,127 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 14,396 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone, stands at 10,982! The number of recoveries has been good and there have been 604 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 16,999. There have been 16,275 samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 592,970!
