A filmmaker who has captivated fans across Tamil Nadu, director Lokesh Kanagaraj hit the bullseye on both occasions with his two films - Maanagaram in 2017 and Kaithi released last year. However, the icing on the cake for the director came when he was announced last year to direct 'Thalapathy' Vijay in Master, which was scheduled to hit screens earlier this year in April, but was indefinitely postponed in view of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. Having said that, Lokesh Kanagaraj took to his Twitter page on Tuesday to say that he will be making a big announcement on his next directorial venture on September 16 at 6PM. "I'm very happy to let you guys know that the Announcement of my next directorial venture will be out tomorrow at 6pm!", he said.

Lokesh Kanagaraj's announcement has left fans mighty excited considering his name has been associated for a collaboration next with a number of top stars. The biggest of the rumors that have been doing rounds for a while now has been Lokesh possibly directing 'Superstar' Rajinikanth and under Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International banner. In addition, there had also been a word that Lokesh would once again team up with 'Thalapathy' Vijay considering they shared an excellent rapport in Master. And, last but not the least, there was also a chatter that he would be directing a Telugu-Tamil bilingual featuring 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan. All speculations will come to an end tomorrow when the man Lokesh Kanagaraj himself will drop the bombshell announcement on who he will be working with next.

As for his upcoming Master, the film has been carrying sky-high expectations right from the time it went on floors in October last year. The news of the film getting postponed had left fans everywhere disappointed considering the audio launch was a rousing success and the songs composed by Anirudh Ravichander have since turned out to be chart-busters. Apart from Vijay fans looking forward with eager anticipation, 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in the film, has piqued the interests of fans. Although no new official date has been announced yet, there is a strong talk that Master could make its way to theatres as a Pongal 2021 release considering the number of COVID-19 cases is still on the rise leaving little opportunity for it to come out in theatres in November.

Apart from Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, Master also includes Malavika Mohanan as the female lead followed by Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri Kishan, Master Mahendran, KPY Dheena, Ramya Subramanian, Azhagam Perumal among others in the supporting cast.
